I have lived long enough to know that living in this world requires me to make things happen in my life.
Because I have a responsibility to create the life I seek, I take necessary steps to show initiative. To me, showing initiative means I begin right away to work toward a consequence that I desire.
I avoid waiting for others to create my life or do something that affects me – I simply step forward and get started.
At work, when my supervisor assigns a project to my work group, I start working on it right away.
At home, if my partner presents a challenging situation, I set out to resolve it as soon as possible.
Getting started on any task sometimes presents a demanding situation. However, I feel committed to positively jump in and work on an issue regardless of the actions of those around me.
I enjoy many advantages because I show initiative.
I discover new knowledge. I demonstrate optimism because I believe I can do something relevant and helpful. Others view me as being proactive. I focus on whatever job is before me. Ultimately, I complete the task at hand.
The feeling of success I enjoy as I demonstrate initiative strengthens my passion for life. I rejoice that I follow a path that focuses on my future.
Today, I intend to show initiative in whatever I do. It brings me pride to know that I am fearless when it comes to getting started on any project.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Do I show initiative in whatever I do? If not, why not?
2. When I set to work on something right away, how do I feel?
3. How can I focus on showing initiative each day?
