“If I could sum up why I’m committed to the HR Girlfriends community it would come down to because we are ‘….in this together.'”

Affirmation: I Move Towards Balance

I cultivate balance in my life. I block out time for the activities that matter to me. I feel energetic and centered.

I make room for work and play. I use my career and hobbies to stretch my skills and develop my strengths. I am my authentic self whether I am leading a business meeting or finger painting with my children.

I appreciate socializing and solitude. I attend to my own needs while I take care of my family.

I welcome input and feedback from others while taking responsibility for making my own decisions.

I know when to indulge and when to practice self-discipline. I eat a nutritious diet rich in whole foods and give myself an occasional treat.

I have the wisdom to plan carefully and the courage to take action. I anticipate how to overcome obstacles and gather necessary resources. I take worthwhile risks, experiment with different approaches, and evaluate my progress.

I am comfortable whether putting forth effort or taking off time to relax. Scheduling some down time enables me to accomplish more.

I accept myself and strive for continued growth. I know that I am worthy of love and respect as I am today. I challenge myself because I deserve success, and find satisfaction in each step forward.

Today, I harmonize the many different roles that make up my life. I am steady and grounded. Balance gives me a sense of freedom and strength.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How does practicing moderation help me to lead a balanced life?
2. What does emotional balance mean to me?
3. What is one thing I want to hold onto, and one thing I want to let go?
