“If I could sum up why I’m committed to the HR Girlfriends community it would come down to because we are ‘….in this together.'”

Affirmation: I Live Consciously

I am fully awake. I live consciously and mindfully.

I examine my motives and take responsibility for my actions. I reflect on my purpose and values. I devote my time and energy to projects that fulfill me instead of drifting through life or reacting to external expectations.

I simplify my life. I weed out distractions and clear away clutter. I limit my consumption.

I develop positive habits. I start with one simple and specific thing I want to change. I stick to my commitment and reward myself when I succeed.

I manage my time. I figure out my priorities and block out time for them. I wake up early or carve out some hours before dinner so I can work on starting a small business or writing my novel.

I eat healthy whole foods. I plan my menu for the day around balanced meals and wholesome snacks.

I speak kindly and clearly. I choose gentle words when I am giving feedback to others and myself. I resolve conflicts promptly and constructively.

I cultivate rewarding relationships. I listen closely to what others have to say. I express my respect and appreciation for them. I share encouragement and support.

Today, I take control of my life. I live in the present and treat myself and others with compassion.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What is one thing I can do in the morning to help me to live more mindfully each day?
2. How does slowing down affect my thinking and behavior?
3. What kind of impact am I having on the world?
