“If I could sum up why I’m committed to the HR Girlfriends community it would come down to because we are ‘….in this together.'”

Career Monday: I listen to my heart when making career decisions.

It is easy to ignore desires of the heart when faced with imminent life responsibilities, but I avoid that urge. I listen to my heart and allow it to guide me. Choosing a career path involves looking behind the intellect at what the heart is yearning for.

Being happy in a job is important to me. Although some jobs offer impressive financial benefits, I look beyond that. I go after opportunities that allow me to utilize my strengths.

My peace of mind at the end of each day is my main priority. I am disinterested in work that results in me feeling stressed.

My heart is pulled towards experiences that renew my soul and liven my emotions. Being connected emotionally to my work is good when the job encourages positive energy.

I am able to be passionate about the work I do each day.

Today, my heart is my compass as I journey towards a fulfilling career. I am committed to emotional well-being. My choices in life are primarily based on whether the outcome positively enhances my existence.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How do I know when it is time to move on from a job?
2. What are some of the qualities that I look for in an employer?
3. How do I feel about pursuing a career that provides income while I travel the world?
