“If I could sum up why I’m committed to the HR Girlfriends community it would come down to because we are ‘….in this together.'”

~Sana’ Rasul, Chief Girlfriend

Affirmation: Love strengthens me

Love provides me with encouragement. I appreciate the value of my life and experience a sense of purpose. I am happy to put forth more effort because the rewards are worth it.

Love makes me more resilient. I build a base of support that sees me through challenging times.

Love heals my wounds. I can forgive others and myself. I let go of resentments and make a fresh start. Instead of being weighed down by the past, I can devote my talents and energies to seizing the opportunities that greet me today.

I share love with my family and friends. However busy my schedule is, I carve out time that we can spend together. I pay attention to their needs and validate their concerns. I reveal my inner thoughts. I am willing to be vulnerable so that we can know each other on a deeper level.

I develop my ability to love through my spiritual practices. I recognize my connection with others and feel a part of something greater than myself.

I express my love through my actions. I prepare balanced meals for my family and help my children with their homework. I stay up late to talk with a friend who is struggling financially. I focus on how my work affects those around me.

I treat myself with love too. I know that I am worthy of respect and kindness.

Today, I train myself to be more loving. I see the world in a positive light and feel excited about making my own unique contribution.

Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What are 3 things that I love about my family?
2. How does anger interfere with my ability to love?
3. Why is love a necessity?
