“If I could sum up why I’m committed to the HR Girlfriends community it would come down to because we are ‘….in this together.'”

~Sana’ Rasul, Chief Girlfriend

Affirmation: Comforting moments do a world of good in my life.

I am so blessed to have supportive people in my life. They bring me encouragement when I am feeling down.

Hearing a loved one express their positive view of me is wonderful. They remind me that I have so much to be thankful for.

When I take a moment to process their sentiments, I feel reassured that the sun always comes up after a rainy time in my life. My zest for life is restored when their comfort envelops me. It is like a shield against self-doubt and fear.

Comforting words are good for healing when I am struggling emotionally. Sadness and anger slowly dissipate when I seek words of comfort from my loved ones.

My friends encourage me to cry when I am experiencing negative emotions. Having them around to hold my hand makes it easier to release those feelings. Knowing that they are there reminds me that it is okay to lean on others at times.

I feel lighter when I release negative emotions from my soul. Letting them out into the universe gives me a sense of freedom.

Today, I treasure my friends and family who offer me comfort when I am facing a difficult time. Their strength is my refuge. I feel safe when I am surrounded by their support and love.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. In which situations do I turn to my loved ones for support?
2. How do I feel after coming out of a difficult emotional time?
3. What coping mechanisms do I use to maintain my emotional strength?
